I truly believe there is no reason to keep a plant in the garden that doesn't bring you joy. Here is your permission to remove it.

I'm here to share what I know and learn each season in my garden. There always seems to be something new with each project, season and planting year. That's one of the main things I love about gardening, there is always one more lesson to learn. Let's learn and grow together!

I grow in Northern California zone 9A. Summers are HOT and winters are very mild. Meaning I am able to grow most of the year, which is a blessing and a curse. I can't wait to show you what's next.

✨ Double, double, toil and trouble… but make it yourself. I turned Christmas ornaments, hot glue, and a splash of purple light into a bubbling witch’s cauldron that looks straight out of a spooky fairytale 🪄🫧🧙‍♀️

I made my own faux terracotta pumpkins using just a few paints and baking power to get that perfectly aged look 🍂 You could also use chalk or even flour if that’s what you’ve got on hand. Such an easy DIY and a total dupe for those $100 Pottery Barn ones!

Apple Hearth is like stepping into a golden-hour apple orchard, then heading inside to warm up by the fire. 🍁Crisp apple mingles with maple, pumpkin bourbon, and a drizzle of caramel, while hints of pine and vanilla wrap everything in the softest blanket. It’s the scent of a small-town fall Hallmark movie with leaves crunching under your boots, the air turning cool, and the feeling that something wonderful is about to happen.

A collab we have been working on for a while now, I’m so excited to share this with you. Autumn Hearth. This is going to be a small batch one time run so be prepared for it to launch this Friday 8.15.25 3am PT.

Honestly, I’m surprised this isn’t how this project actually went 😂 it’s easily could have. We have fought over how to hang a strand of lights 😘

Yes, I do have a fan plugged into an extension cord following me around today. Seems about right.

Life here lately ✨ still feels like a fever dream

I am really good at looking forward and not back on where things were just a few months ago. I live my life very much in the future that I forget to live in the moment. Well, this morning we got a very light rain, I made my coffee and sat under the willow tree. Lived in the moment.

2 months to film this. May 17th I filmed the first clip 😂 but she’s done and I can’t wait to show you the chandler that I ordered….i just have to build it now…

The front porch definitely needed a face lift, I’m glad it got done because the front of the house looks so inviting now. should I probably been working on the greenhouse? Yes. Was it nice to take a little break and get this done? Also yes.

Twelve months ago, I never could’ve pictured this life.

Back then, I was still planting just for fun. Still figuring out what I was doing. Still worrying way too much about what people would think. I never imagined I’d be working with brands like The Home Depot or YouTube. Heck, I never thought I’d be building a greenhouse! Honestly, it wasn’t even on my wish list because I didn’t think it was possible.

But, this year I started saying yes. Even when it was scary. Even when it made my stomach turn. I started betting on myself instead of waiting for someone else to give me permission.

Some of the best things that happened this year were never part of the plan. They were the result of saying yes when I normally would’ve said no. They were the result of finally letting go of the fear that people would judge me for doing something different. For building something of my own.

I’ve made friends I never expected. Built things I’m so proud of. Had moments I wish I could freeze and enjoy forever.

And it all started because I stopped asking who am I to do this? And started asking what if I just…try?

We have very different ways we handle situations 😂

Western tiger swallow tail butterfly, they are in abundance in our garden this time of year. They mostly live in willows, alders and cotton woods. We have all 3 of those in and around our property. Sadly once they turn into butterflies they have an incredible short life span, like 6-14 days. We enjoy every single one in our garden. Usually finding them in the garden right after they emerge from their cocoons we pick them up and take them to a flower for a drink then place them in a safe space from predators.

This has been such an incredible Trip thank you @baileynurseries! And I got to travel with one of my favorite people @coastal_homestead

Blasting Man Child while he’s in the kitchen scrubbing a pan with the same intensity he brings to vacuum lines in the carpet. This man just made dinner, started the laundry, and filled up my water bottle like we live in some alternate universe where emotional maturity is…hot? I’m spinning around like a pop star and he’s wiping down the counters like it’s the encore. Honestly, if this is delusion, I’m never waking up.

I’m just over here trying to make people laugh little, damn.
And a full disclosure I am 100% OK, I personally just love to call out shitty people publicly. If you’re gonna say it with your whole chest on my page, I’m not gonna blur your name. What comes from that is on you babe.

He’s just such a go with the flow type of guy, an honestly it stresses him out more if he knows to far in advance. Now that he knows the greenhouse is coming he’s up every night stressing about if all the screws will be in the box or if our ladder is tall enough(it is)…I wish I was joking. It’s best he find out things as they happen.

The Garden Lately: I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how easy it is to miss your own progress. In life, in work, at home, whatever season you’re in. Things shift so slowly sometimes, you don’t even notice how far you’ve come until you stop and really look around. Other times everything moves so fast it’s hard to keep up. That’s definitely the season we’re in. We wrap one project and jump straight into the next. But this walk through the yard reminded me to stop for a second. It wasn’t meant to be anything special, just a lap around the garden, but it turned into a moment of really seeing and appreciating everything we’ve built. Here’s to more of that. Maybe we can relax a bit after the next big project?

Date day: Don’t forget to grab lunch here too @potteryworld it’s seriously my favorite. We make the 2hr drive at least once a year to have lunch and dream about an absolute massive fountain that would not fit in my car…or garden. What one was your favorite? ⛲️

He thought he signed up for a quiet, peaceful life. Maybe a little gardening here and there, a few home-cooked meals… but this? He had no idea what he was getting into. Every day is a surprise when you’re married to me, and some days, that surprise involves inflatable cow suits and questionable dance moves.
Married life really is just hoping the entertainment never stops. What he got? A cow-suited dance party in the backyard and a front-row seat to the daily circus that is me.

I used to sit out here after long days at work, dreaming about what my life could look like. I had no plan, just a garden, a camera, and a gut feeling that maybe this was going to be something more.

For years, I filmed in my free time, posted during lunch breaks, and poured my energy into this space whenever I could. Some days it felt like nothing was working. Other days it felt like magic.

And then one day, it wasn’t just a side project anymore. This became the job.

Now I get to wake up and create full-time from the garden, the patio, the greenhouse (coming soon!), or wherever the plants take me. I don’t take it for granted for a second.

If you’re dreaming up something on your lunch break right now, don’t give up. I swear you never know how close you are to the thing that changes everything.

Easter flower arrangement from 2023, this was such a fun one. The eggs didn’t go to waste! This was a great was to use the shells! 🐣💐

It’s here, I couldn’t be happier and I want another one. 🐮

This little corner has quietly become one of my favorite spots in the whole garden. The birch trees add that soft, papery texture I love, and the snowball viburnum is doing exactly what I hoped it would, flopping its big white blooms around like it owns the place. And don’t even get me started on the heuchera… I mean, come on. Every shade from chartreuse to blackberry. It’s full-blown color and I’m here for it.

That black fence? It’s stained with @behrpaint House & Fence wood stain in the color Slate and I swear it makes every plant pop like it’s on stage. The mirror was kind of a random addition, but now I can’t imagine this spot without it. The way it reflects the viburnum blooms and bounces a bit of light around? Magical.

This space feels layered, cozy, and just a little bit enchanted. Every time I walk by, I stop and stare for a minute (or five). Sometimes the quiet spots in the garden are the ones that end up saying the most.

Mangave Bad Hair Day! Oh my word! This is going to be such a fun one to add to the garden. This size is absolutely spectacular! Full sun lover and if you are in a lower zone you could keep it in a container then bring it in during the winter months!

We decided to go with a dry stack for the pavers to make sure we love the size and height. Once we are sure it’s perfect we will go back and use mortar to make it a more permanent structure.

Let’s talk about what not to buy!

I can’t stand seeing tulips sold like this. It’s my number one “do not buy” item.

When I first started my garden 10 years ago, I fell for them. I bought a bunch, they bloomed, and I fell in love and then… they never bloomed again. I felt totally ripped off. I had just spent so much money, and the flowers only lasted a few days. One bloom per stem…that’s it.

Save yourself the money and just buy the bulbs in the fall! You’ll get way more for your dollar. I guess if you need them for a quick project and you know they’ll only last a few days, go for it, but for me? Hard pass.

It’s official. My husband hates me. I could see it in his eyes 😭

For those who do struggle with sarcasm, this is a big ol jokey joke. He is done with me being annoying but there is no divorce happening.

Every time, I have big visions and very little motivation to finish 😂 maybe one day. I will say Brent is always more motivated than I am.

Turns out it is perfect for bodies ✨ now why this man puts up with my ideas I’ll never know. But really the only way this man will be leaving is by a gorilla cart.

True story. Our couch is currently sitting in the driveway and I leave to the airport in 12hrs. Not only did we get rid of the couch, our rug is also gone. I also got rid of everything in the bathroom and our dining room buffet table. I’m currently laying in bed scrolling on instagram and the suitcase is about 25% packed. Guess we will see how this trip goes ✨

Also this is the worst vacuum ever. Do not recommend.

Hard work is paying off! #AD 🏡Every project in the garden feels like a step toward something bigger, and seeing all the @edgingengineered metal edging finally installed is such a rewarding moment. This space is transforming right before our eyes, and I can already picture how incredible it’s going to look once everything is in place. Now we rest for a few days because we are sore! Well maybe no rest, because a ridiculous amount of soil has been delivered 😳 (if you look close you will see a bed might already be filled)

Next up: laying the road base, then decorative gravel. After that the real fun begins with planting for spring!

I Just Quit My Job.

Wow. Today is the day. After years of standing behind the chair as a barber, I just walked away to chase something completely different. Creating full-time in the garden. And let me tell you, I am feeling every emotion right now.

I’m excited. I’m scared. I’m beyond grateful. I’m questioning if I’m completely crazy. But more than anything, I can’t wait to see where this new chapter leads. I can always go back, right?

Cutting hair has been a huge part of my life, something I never thought I would actually quit doing. My clients weren’t just clients, they were friends, family, and people who trusted me. Heck, some of them even came to my wedding. Walking away isn’t easy, but deep down, I know it’s time to take this leap.

Gardening and creating videos have become my passion, and thanks to all of you who have followed, liked, commented, and supported me, I now have the chance to do this full-time. That still blows my mind!

This is just the beginning. More videos, more creativity, more time doing what I love. I don’t know exactly what’s ahead, but I do know this—I’m all in.

So here’s to the next adventure. Let’s grow something amazing together. Thanks for visiting our garden. 🪴

Winter has been cute and all, but I’m so ready for sunshine, blooms, and getting my hands back in the dirt! Who’s with me?! The energy of a new season is coming, and I can feel it, just like that first warm day that makes you wanna dance (preferably in the garden, of course!). 💃🌷

While we wait for spring to officially arrive, here are a few things you can do now to get a head start:
🌱 Plan your garden! Sketch out your beds, order seeds, and dream big.
🌿 Clean up & prep! Clear out debris, plan what beds need mulch, and start planning if you haven’t yet.
🌞 Start seeds indoors! Lots of flowers like foxglove and snapdragons love an early start.
💦 Check your tools! Sharpen those pruners and make sure your hoses aren’t cracked!

Sometimes I’m not even sure how I managed to create so much beauty in this garden. ✨ While it may look a bit rough and torn up right now, I promise there’s a plan! I’m in the process of ripping everything out and starting fresh. Plus, let’s be real…winter isn’t exactly the garden’s most glamorous season.

I’m so grateful to be able to work in the garden during the winter. For me, this is actually one of the most important seasons! With our extreme summer heat, winter is my time to prep, plan, and do, so that when spring arrives, everything is ready to shine.

This garden has been such a fun, evolving space over the years - from a full vegetable garden to a year of rest, to a full-blown cut flower garden where we gave away hundreds of bouquets. Now, I’m focused on building a plan I truly love and putting it into action.

It’s such a joy to play, experiment, and grow in this space. Here’s to the next chapter!

Is anyone else feeling the spring fever already? This unseasonably warm weather has my daffodils popping up, and I can’t help but get excited. There’s just something so hopeful about seeing those green shoots break through the soil. It’s like nature’s little reminder that brighter, sunnier days are just around the corner.

Even though I’m lucky to garden year-round, there’s something special about this time of year when things start waking up again. It’s like a fresh start, full of possibility, and I can’t wait to share what this season has in store!

I probably will still but I am realizing that maybe I shouldn’t. Because there is no way I will be the one to lay irrigation, wire electrical or other crazy “man” things. If on the odd chance I did, it would be way worse than the way he loads the dishwasher. To by honest, I’ll still be annoyed the way he puts the things that belong on the top rack on the bottom. He likes to ruin Tupperware.

30 feels like the perfect time to hit the reset button. After years of chasing a career that I loved but didn’t really feel like me, I took a leap, quit my job, and decided to bet on myself as a full-time creator. Scary? Absolutely. But also the most alive I’ve felt in years.

My garden has become my safe space, a place where I can experiment, dream, and let myself fail without judgment. Tying so many new things! From a full veggie garden to a cut flower garden and now a more “permanent” landscape. There’s something about getting your hands in the dirt, watching something grow from nothing that feels so grounding. It’s not just about the plants; it’s about proving to myself that I’m capable of starting over and thriving.

I’m so happy you’re here to share this journey with me. Let’s see where it goes. 🌱✨

If I told you I didn’t cry when I hit send on an email blast today to my clients I would be lying. Over 10 years of doing hair and on the 14th my books will officially be closed.

I Started this journey at 19 and to see it come to an end is a strange feeling. I was sure I would be doing hair until i physically couldn’t. Just goes to show that you really never know what the future holds for you.
